Uzi Freyja

Uzi Freyja is pronounced like a statement of intent, combining the rapid-fire flow of a weapon (Uzi) with the Norse goddess of love, war, fertility, and sex (Freyja).

Unbound by conventions and fiercely determined, talented, and fearless, Uzi Freyja lives fast and loud.

Winner of the Prix Chorus des Hauts-de-Seine 2023, she has always set the stage ablaze. In just two years, she has performed at a series of French and European festivals (Dour, Francofolies, Vieilles Charrues, Rock en Seine, Eurosonic, Mama Festival, Reeperbahn...). She ignites the crowd with a fusion of hip-hop vocals, punk fury, and experimental electronic structures. Her extraordinary charisma is one of the striking elements of her music—Uzi Freyja appears confident and undeniably powerful.

Constantly reinventing herself, Uzi Freyja takes on the challenge of telling her story in her debut album. Whether in English or French, she speaks to Bhelize, her inner child, guiding her through an emotionally charged initiatory journey.

This first album also serves as an opportunity to break free and build an artistic family in her own image. She changes labels, follows her desire to explore sound further, and collaborates with a new team, both in the studio and visually. She produces the album herself, with the support of Juxe at Krumpp, showcasing the fascinating evolution and maturity of her sound.

Her new songwriting and vocal collaborations include Yoa, Baby Volcano, and Béatrice Dalle.

On the production side, a bold and eclectic team, perfectly aligned with her artistic vision: Juxe (beatmaker for Nekfeu, Georgio, Coelho), Carbon Killer (a key figure in the cyberpunk/metal scene), Labo Klandestino (Soso Maness, Zamdane, Lakna), Hook and GR! (Muthoni Drummer Queen), and Vapa.

Her diverse influences, blending rap and pop music in a broad sense, evoke Princess Nokia, Little Simz, Leikeli47, and even City Morgue.

With Bhelize Don’t Cry, Uzi Freyja rises to the challenge of capturing the energy and rage she delivers on stage in the studio, offering a collection of songs that serve as complex, surprising, and electrifying self-portraits.
