Hooverphonic

Hooverphonic was formed in 1995 and quickly drew international attention with 2Wicky, a track featured in Bernardo Bertolucci’s film Stealing Beauty. Their debut album A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular (1996) propelled them onto European and American stages.

Over the years, their sound evolved from trip‑hop to rich, cinematic orchestral pop, giving birth to timeless tracks such as Mad About You (2000), taken from The Magnificent Tree, which has since become an international classic. The band constantly reinvents itself through albums like Blue Wonder Power Milk (1998), Hooverphonic Presents Jackie Cane (2002), No More Sweet Music (2005), and Reflection (2013).

Hooverphonic is renowned for its cinematic arrangements, eclectic songwriting, and iconic voices, including that of Geike Arnaert, who rejoined the band in 2020 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mad About You with a new version.

In 2021, their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest with The Wrong Place introduced their timeless aesthetic to a new generation. In 2024, the band returned to its electronic roots with Fake Is The New Dope, an album inspired by 90s‑era sonorities that reflects on our relationship to technology.

With nearly 30 years of career, over one million monthly listeners on Spotify, and sold‑out concerts around the world, Hooverphonic remains a mainstay of the European music scene, elegantly blending nostalgia and innovation.
