The duo took its name from two influential psychologists: Joy Paul Guilford and Marc Hauser. Guilford’s explorations of intelligence and Hauser’s research on primate behavior form two key pillars of Joyhauser’s inspiration. This interest in psychology provides the conceptual backbone of their first album, In Memero.

Made up of 12 tracks, In Memero highlights the varied tastes of Stijn and Joris, ranging from the sonic power of rave and techno to lower BPMs and broken rhythms. In Memero will form the foundation of Joyhauser’s next live show, a further expansion of their Intelligence‑meets‑Behaviour philosophy.
