Hooverphonic

Hooverphonic began in 1995, quickly gaining global attention with 2Wicky, featured in Bernardo Bertolucci’s Stealing Beauty. Their debut, A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular (1996), launched them in Europe and the US.

Over the years, their sound evolved from trip-hop to lush orchestral pop, producing timeless hits like Mad About You (2000) from The Magnificent Tree, which became an international classic. They continued redefining themselves through albums like Blue Wonder Power Milk (1998), Hooverphonic Presents Jackie Cane (2002), No More Sweet Music (2005), and Reflection (2013).

Hooverphonic is known for cinematic arrangements, eclectic songwriting, and iconic vocalists such as Geike Arnaert, who rejoined in 2020 to celebrate Mad About You’s 20th anniversary with a new version.

Their 2021 Eurovision entry The Wrong Place showcased their timeless aesthetic to a new generation. In 2024, they returned to their electronic roots with Fake Is The New Dope, inspired by 90s sounds and reflecting on our relationship with technology.

With nearly 30 years of music, over a million monthly Spotify listeners, and sold-out shows worldwide, Hooverphonic remains an enduring force in European music, continuing to blend nostalgia with innovation.
