YUKSEK

Since the early 2000s, Pierre-Alexandre Busson, aka Yuksek, has multiplied experiences to establish himself today as one of the essential producers of the electronic scene. A DJ all around the world with his energetic disco/house mixes, a prolific remixer (for Gorillaz, Lana Del Rey, Breakbot...), a producer for Juliette Armanet or Clara Luciani, founder of the Partyfine label, composer of original soundtracks, and host of the weekly Dance’O’Drome show on Radio Nova, Yuksek alternates between projects with an enthusiasm that reflects his deep love for music and his undeniable versatility.

Trained in the wild raves of the 90s, Yuksek has emerged as one of the most brilliant troublemakers of Reims' turbulent scene (The Shoes, Alb, or Brodinski), which revitalized the French Touch. Within this bubbling scene, Yuksek made his mark in 2009 with Away From The Sea, a debut album with metallic melodies and punchy beats, where rock and electro dance hand in hand.

In 2016, with Nous Horizon, his third album, which aptly lives up to its name, Yuksek opened his universe to disco, taking the genre further and bringing it back into fashion. An album that served as a necessary turning point for Yuksek’s growing media presence, and since then, he has never stopped moving from one project to another. From composing the soundtrack for the Netflix documentary on the Grégory case to the sunny compilations of his label Partyfine, from producing for Armanet, Luciani, or Feu Chatterton to Destiino, his dark and minimal side project, Yuksek has created a playground perfectly suited to his taste for experimentation and collaboration.

A journey perfectly summed up by his two flagship projects: his album Nosso Ritmo, released in early 2020, a fusion of groovy disco and Brazilian sounds, and the Dance’O’Drome show on Radio Nova, which put him back at the heart of the dancefloor. Dance‘O‘Drome, Yuksek’s new and fifth album, continues the universe shaped with Nosso Ritmo, deepening his love affair with Brazil, playing with percussion, and finalizing a great dance mix where soaring disco, punk-funk explosions, feverish italo-disco, a tribute to the filtered house label Roulé, mischievous acid loops, nods to Metro Area, and languid Balearic beats coexist.

The proof? Santas Almas Benditas, the first single from his new album, sung by Luedji Luna, which starts with percussion before exploding into a sensual and hedonistic dancefloor bomb, is yet another beautiful demonstration that Yuksek remains an essential figure in the electronic scene.
