TRAVIS

The band formed in Glasgow in 1990 when all the musicians were students at the Fine Arts College. Quickly stifled by the city and the lack of opportunities, they moved to London and released their first mini album “All I Wanna Do Is Rock” in 1996. It's clearly and unapologetic rock'n'roll. A very muscular formula for the musical landscape of the time, which was full of stale brit pop.

After a second mini album, they released their first album “Good Feeling”. Recorded in a few days by producer Steve Lillywhite, it went straight into the UK Top 10. The second album, recorded the following year in six months, was entitled “The Man Who” (1999). And this was the success that no one expected. It sold two million copies in the UK alone and had five tracks in the Top 10. This album took everyone by surprise. Since then, the band has toured extensively.

As successful as ever, they released “The Invisible Band” in 2001, which went on to become the number one selling album and Best British Band at the 2002 Brit Awards. With “12 Memories” in 2003, their lyrics became more engaged and thus confused some of their fans. After that, the band felt the need to take a break and the members devoted themselves to their private lives.

The Boy With No Name was released in 2007, the single “Closer” is there to show that they still have such a sharp writing talent. “Ode to J. Smith” was released on September 29, 2008, recorded on 1968 material that was used for The Beatles' Abbey Road sessions as they wanted vintage sound for their new English pop gem.

As there wasn’t any news from the band for five years, the public thought that Travis no longer existed and that its leader Fran Healy, who released the album “Wreckorder” in 2010, had gone solo. This is not the case, as a seventh album was recorded in Berlin with Michael Ibert in August 2013. “Where You Stand”, is driven by a first single of the same name and then “Moving”, in the same pop vein as their debut. “Everything at Once” followed in 2016, with three singles, “3 Miles High”, “Magnificent Time” and “Radio Song”.
