The group Portland was formed in the summer 2014. The band is formed by Jente Pironet, Sarah Pepels, Gill Princen and Arno De Bock. These artists have talent. And they have used it brilliantly to make their mark on the Belgian music scene.
After several months of rehearsals and performances, the band decided in 2016 to try their luck at Humo's Rock Rally, a Belgian music competition for rock bands. Portland finished as a finalist that year. Their first single, "Pouring Rain", got one million streams on Spotify.
Two years later, they won "De Nieuwe Lichting" from Studio Brussel. A promising title that propelled Portland onto the music scene, with their melancholic, multi-voiced pop melodies, enhanced with electronic notes. Their singles "Pouring Rain", "Lucky Cover" and "Expectations" were all successful.
Even before the release of their first album, they had already success. In 2019, their album "Your Colours Will Stain" was finally released, consisting of 11 hits in funky, electropop or more intimate piano styles. The album really puts the band on the Belgian music scene. Stages such as the Ancienne Belgique, where they have already performed, no longer hold any secrets for them.
More recently, the band has released a new single entitled "Ally Ally".
