CHARLES

"Charles" is the artist name of Charlotte Foret. Her first single "Wasted Time" is designed to haunt our best after parties. It’s an autobiographical account of her nights, wherein Charles personal and universal themes tackles. The 19-year-old singer portrays the nightlife of Generation Z, who would rather be bored and pretend to have fun than to let loose and enjoy themselves. Like Charles, “Wasted Time” is a chiaroscuro in permanent metamorphosis: melancholic and playful, sweet and corrosive. She blurs the lines with ingenuity, changes her register as well as her appearance, constantly reinventing herself by going from shady brown to angelic blonde. A self-taught pianist, Charlotte co-wrote and co-composed this single with Nina Sampermans (Hooverphonic, Ibe, Tessa Dixson) and Wouter Hardy, the Rotterdam-based producer of Duncan Laurence's 2019 Eurovision winner “Arcade”. Nothing less.
